Honey-glazed Chicken
This tasty recipe is a hit with adults and children alike. You can cook it in the oven or barbecue the chicken if the weather is nice. This recipe was shared with us by the then 11-year-old Monica Krauss and was first published in our September/October 1994 newsletter. It is simple and delicious and can be even doubled or tripled to feed a big crowd.

INGREDIENTS
  • ½ cup honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • ½ cup hot English Breakfast Nerada Tea (made with one tea bag)
  • ½ cup barbecue sauce
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 10 large chicken drumsticks or 1kg chicken wings/drummettes
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
METHOD
  1. Preheat the oven to 200C.
  2. Microwave honey for 30 seconds or until runny. Pour into baking dish. Mix in garlic, tea, barbecue sauce and soy sauce and stir well to combine. Add chicken drumsticks and turn to coat well.
  3. Place in the oven and cook, turning frequently, for 30-40 minutes until cooked through. Sprinkle with sesame seeds to serve.
